Hypnosis has been extensively used by people who wanted to stop habits that they considered to be inappropriate. Examples of such are the people who have tried used it to quit the smoking habit. Many people have been able to successfully quit the smoking habit through this mind body medicine. This sounds to be an easy procedure but I can advise you who want to use it that for it to fully help you, you have to dedicate your entire mind into the medication. You must have the will to quit the habit that you intend. This is done by relaxing your mind and concentrating on what you are told by your hypnotist. This has to be accompanied by putting in mind that you are doing this so as to quit a certain habit. This will eventually make you have a relaxed feeling while you become aware of your surroundings.

In America, hypnosis has been approved as an effective treatment. This has led to the alternative treatment being included in the school curriculum in the medical school. Hypnosis has been used especially for the treatment for unwanted habitual practices that are not easily treated by other means. These are habits that most people try to stop and are not able to do so for most people believe them to be unstoppable or they believe that they require a lot of treatment for one to quit them. For those who have tried to stop such habits, they can bear me witness that they are only successful in decision making but they lack the will to carry out the process of quitting the habit. This is usually in the sub conscious mind where the messages sent to your brain are not executed. Hypnosis has been proven to be the right treatment for such habits. This is because it involves the person having the decision and will to stop the habit.
Basically what the hypnotists do is suggest to your subconscious mind what to do. This is only effective when the person undergoing this form of treatment has prepared their subconscious mind to accept and incorporate these suggestions. You have to tell your mind that you are quitting a certain habit.
