Weather delivers baseball-size tomatoes

AVON, Ohio - If you want to be one of the first persons in the area to have ripe home grown tomatoes for the picking. You may want to stop off at Fitch's Farm Market and pick up some tomato plants to throw on the deck.

Fitch's is located in Avon on Route 83.

In a couple of weeks cherry tomatoes should be ready to plop in your mouth. and if you want big meaty ones they should be ready in in about three weeks or so.

It is still a good time to get your cold weather crops in. Such as cabbage , red cabbage, kholrabi, beets and onion sets.

It's early May so tomato plants still need at least a couple of more weeks until you get them in your garden and a couple of more weeks after that for peppers.
